The commission is taken the moment you accept an order - nothing moves for orders you can't fulfil. Nothing is ever added to your customers' prices.

Questions restaurants ask us
- How long does setup take?
- We onboard you directly - menu, opening hours, counter ordering, delivery zones, and your Stripe connection. Most restaurants are live within a few days of sending us their menu.
- Do I need special hardware?
- No. Any tablet, laptop or screen with a web browser runs your till and your kitchen display. No proprietary POS terminal. If you want to take card payments in person through Nyxis you'll need a supported reader; otherwise keep your existing terminal - the order still lands on your reports.
- Can I run phone and walk-in orders through Nyxis?
- Yes. Staff log counter and phone orders straight into the till screen; every ticket goes to the kitchen display and into your daily sales report alongside online orders - one number for the day, whatever the channel.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes, on Growth and Pro - your ordering site runs at your own web address. Starter runs on a clean Nyxis subdomain.
- How do payouts work?
- Card payments are processed by Stripe and settle to your own Stripe account, paying out to your bank on your normal schedule. Nyxis never holds your money. Commission is deducted automatically the moment you accept an order.
- Do you take a cut of delivery fees or tips?
- No. Delivery fees you set are yours in full, and tips go to your team - the platform is built so it can't take a share of either.
- Is it compliant?
- Allergen information shows on every menu item and on the receipt, with a full change history. Card details never touch our servers - payment is handled entirely by Stripe. For your customers' personal data we act as your processor under UK GDPR, with built-in tools to handle access, correction and deletion requests.
- How is this different from Flipdish or a regular EPOS?
- Flipdish and most online-ordering tools still charge a monthly fee plus a percentage on top of card processing. Most EPOS systems do online ordering as a bolt-on. Nyxis is one platform for both, at a lower all-in cost, with no marketplace listing and no markup on your customers' prices.
- What happens if I stop using Nyxis?
- Your menu, customer list and order history are yours and exportable any time. Your domain and Stripe account stay entirely in your control. No exit fee, no lock-in.

About
Why Nyxis exists
Nyxis started after watching a family takeaway hand roughly a third of every delivery order to an aggregator - for a listing they didn't control, sitting next to their own competitors, with the customer relationship owned by someone else. The technology to run your own online orders, your own till, and your own kitchen screen already existed. It was just locked inside bloated enterprise software priced for chains.
Nyxis is that system, unlocked: one platform for online, counter and phone ordering, built to leave the margin where it belongs - with the restaurant. It's built and run in the UK by Rahman Imtiaz, who also answers the support emails. Write in, and you're talking to the person who built it.
